A practical workshop order

  1. Workbench: start with four hand-crafted Planks. Its sawn-plank recipe improves your wood yield.
  2. Campfire: make Charcoal and establish a nearby rest point.
  3. Smelter: turn Copper Ore and tin into ingots, then alloy bronze.
  4. Stonecutter: make Cut Stone for the Forge.
  5. Forge: shape heads and blades; return to the Workbench for handle assembly.
  6. Loom and storage: process fiber, make a bag, and keep your workshop supplied.

Fuel is part of the recipe

Processing recipes require both input material and fuel. The recipe calculator includes the displayed fuel once in its ingredient list. Charcoal made with wood fuel costs two logs total: one to process and one to burn.

A Blast Smelter is an upgrade to an existing Smelter: it costs 6 Cut Stone + 4 Obsidian + 6 Emberstone. Upgrade before bringing Star Iron or Blacksteel ingredients to the station.

Fuel choices vary by recipe. Steel and bog iron use Charcoal; Star Iron and Blacksteel need Emberstone and a Blast Smelter. Do not assume every fuel works in every process.

Storage and workshop access

Other players can use reachable basic chests and stations. Walls, closed doors and floors between the character and a container affect access. Metal Chests restrict opening to their owner.

Build a workshop you can maintain, rather than scattering stations without shelter or a route back. The building guide covers foundations, access and decay.
